The Original is the swag as stockmen and drovers have used it for generations: a canvas bedroll you throw down, climb into and zip up. No poles, no frame, nothing to break or lose. It rolls out in seconds on the ground, a stretcher or the tray of the ute. Designed in Australia for touring and 4WD adventure.

Simple by design

  • Full-length zip, so you can get in and out easily.
  • Protective head flap to pull over against wind, dew or a passing shower.
  • Boxed foot section, 200mm high, so your feet aren't pinned flat under the canvas.
  • 2100mm L × 900mm W, a full king single length.
  • 70mm Hi-Loft foam mattress included.
  • Rolls up to 80cm L × 28cm W × 28cm H and weighs 7.2kg.

Materials

  • 410gsm (12oz) canvas in Stockman Brown, breathable and resistant to rot, mildew and UV.
  • 15oz Hypa-PVC base that keeps ground moisture out.

Who it suits

People who sleep out under clear skies, work on stations and in the bush, or want a swag for inside a tent, a shed or the back of the ute without poles to set up. If you'd rather have a pitched swag with insect mesh and room to sit up, see the Ultimate King Single Swag Gen 2.

Quality in Everything

Premium Materials

The Original is made from our Stockman Brown canvas in a heavy-duty 410gsm (12oz) weight: durable, breathable, rot and mildew resistant, and UV stabilised. The 15oz Hypa-PVC base is waterproof and suits wet or dry ground.

Quality Mattress

The Original King Single Swag includes a 70mm Hi-Loft foam mattress with a removable cover. It keeps you off the ground for a restful sleep, and the Hi-Loft foam resists mould, mildew, bacteria, odours and dust mites.

Packs Down Small

Rolled up, the Original measures 80cm L × 28cm W × 28cm H and weighs 7.2kg, so it fits behind the seat, in the tray or on the roof rack.

Frequently asked questions

Does the Original King Single Swag need poles?

No. It's a traditional canvas bedroll with no poles or frame. Roll it out on the ground, a stretcher or the tray of the ute, climb in and zip it up.

How big and heavy is it?

It's 2100mm long and 900mm wide, with a 200mm high boxed foot so your feet aren't pinned under the canvas. It weighs 7.2kg and rolls up to 80cm × 28cm × 28cm.

What's the mattress?

A 70mm Hi-Loft foam mattress is included.

What's it made from?

410gsm (12oz) canvas in Stockman Brown, which breathes and resists rot, mildew and UV, with a 15oz Hypa-PVC base that keeps ground moisture out.

How do I get in and out?

A full-length zip opens the side, and a head flap pulls over against wind, dew or a passing shower.

Does it have insect mesh?

No. If you want insect mesh, see the Classic King Single Swag, which has full-length midge mesh, or the Ultimate King Single Swag Gen 2, a dome swag with mesh doors and room to sit up.

How much is delivery and where do you send?

We deliver anywhere in Australia, and shipping is free on orders of $1,500 or more. Below that, it's calculated at checkout from your address and the items in your order. Every delivery includes in-transit insurance, and we send with Australia Post, FedEx or DHL depending on the size and weight of your order.

Can I pick up my order instead?

Yes. Choose Pickup In-Store at checkout and collect your order from our store at 14 Cessna Street, Marcoola, on the Sunshine Coast. It saves the shipping cost.

Do you ship overseas?

Yes, for everything except awnings. International shipping is calculated at checkout, not including local import duties and taxes, which the receiver pays. For an overseas quote on an awning, email info@mrswagman.com.au or call +61 (0)7 5302 6954.

What's the warranty?

Every Mr Swagman product has a 12-month warranty against manufacturing defects, such as stitching or a seam coming apart, or a zip, buckle or pole failing in normal use. It starts on the day you receive the product, and it's in addition to your rights under the Australian Consumer Law.

Can I return it if I change my mind?

Yes, within 30 days of receiving it, as long as it's unused and in its original packaging. Please contact us first. You pay the return freight, the original shipping cost isn't refunded, and a 5% restocking fee comes off your refund, which we process once the item is back with us and approved for resale. If anything arrives faulty, damaged or not as described, that's different: contact us and we'll sort it out under the Australian Consumer Law, with no restocking fee.

What should I do when my order arrives?

Check the box and the product for damage before you sign for it. If there's any damage, note it with the driver before signing, or refuse the delivery. Without that, we can't claim on the freight insurance.
