Buying guide

The Jump Starter turns an 18–20V tool battery into a 12V jump-start pack with red and black clamps. If you already carry tool batteries, it's a compact backup for flat vehicle batteries. Use the Battery platform filter to see only the versions that fit your batteries.

How it works

  1. Fit a charged 18V battery. The green indicator light comes on.
  2. Connect the red clamp to the vehicle battery's positive (+) terminal and the black clamp to negative (−).
  3. When the starter light turns green, start the vehicle. If needed, wait 3–5 minutes to let it pre-charge the vehicle battery first.
  4. Once the engine is running, remove the clamps.

Before you buy

  • Battery not included. Each version fits the 18–20V slide-on batteries of the brand in its name.
  • For 12V vehicles only.
  • How well it works depends on how flat the vehicle battery is and the size of the engine. A fully charged tool battery gives the best result.

Makita, Milwaukee, DeWalt, Bosch, Ryobi, AEG, Ozito, Einhell, HiKOKI and Metabo are trade marks of their respective owners. These are aftermarket products, compatible with those batteries but not made, approved or endorsed by the battery brands.

Frequently asked questions

Will it start my 4WD?

It suits 12V vehicles. It delivers up to 30A and can pre-charge a flat vehicle battery for 3–5 minutes before you crank. How well it works depends on how flat the vehicle battery is and the size of the engine, so use a fully charged tool battery.

Can I use it on a 24V truck?

No. It's for 12V vehicles only.

Which clamp goes where?

Red to the vehicle battery's positive (+) terminal, black to negative (−). The indicator lights show when it's ready to start.

Is it safe if I connect it wrongly?

It has low-voltage, over-current, over-charge and over-temperature protection. Always follow the instructions and check the clamps before starting.

Are batteries included?

No. It runs on the 18–20V tool battery you already own. Use the Battery platform filter to find the version for your brand.

How much is delivery and where do you send?

We deliver anywhere in Australia. Shipping is calculated at checkout from your address and the items in your order, and every delivery includes in-transit insurance. We send with Australia Post, FedEx or DHL depending on the size and weight of your order.

Can I pick up my order instead?

Yes. Choose Pickup In-Store at checkout and collect your order from our store at 14 Cessna Street, Marcoola, on the Sunshine Coast. It saves the shipping cost.

Do you ship overseas?

Yes, for everything except awnings. International shipping is calculated at checkout, not including local import duties and taxes, which the receiver pays. For an overseas quote on an awning, email info@mrswagman.com.au or call +61 (0)7 5302 6954.

What's the warranty?

Every Mr Swagman product has a 12-month warranty against manufacturing defects, such as stitching or a seam coming apart, or a zip, buckle or pole failing in normal use. It starts on the day you receive the product, and it's in addition to your rights under the Australian Consumer Law.

Can I return it if I change my mind?

Yes, within 30 days of receiving it, as long as it's unused and in its original packaging. Please contact us first. You pay the return freight, the original shipping cost isn't refunded, and a 5% restocking fee comes off your refund, which we process once the item is back with us and approved for resale. If anything arrives faulty, damaged or not as described, that's different: contact us and we'll sort it out under the Australian Consumer Law, with no restocking fee.

What should I do when my order arrives?

Check the box and the product for damage before you sign for it. If there's any damage, note it with the driver before signing, or refuse the delivery. Without that, we can't claim on the freight insurance.
