Off-Grid Power

Your 18V tool batteries can do more than run a drill. Use them to power a 12V fridge, camp lights, a fan or a Starlink Mini, then recharge them while you drive.

Buying guide

If you already own 18V cordless tools, you already own a set of portable batteries. Off-Grid Power turns them into camp power: clip a power supply onto a tool battery and run your 12V gear, or clip on a light or fan. When the batteries run low, recharge them from your vehicle on the way to the next camp. Use the Battery platform filter to see only the versions that fit your batteries.

Before you buy

  • Battery not included. Each version fits the 18–20V slide-on batteries of the brand in its name.
  • Not every product is made for every battery brand. The filter shows what's available for yours.
  • Built-in low-voltage protection on the battery-powered products switches them off before your battery is run flat.

Makita, Milwaukee, DeWalt, Bosch, Ryobi, AEG, Ozito, Einhell, HiKOKI and Metabo are trade marks of their respective owners. These are aftermarket products, compatible with those batteries but not made, approved or endorsed by the battery brands.

Frequently asked questions

Which battery brands do you cover?

We have products for Makita 18V LXT, Milwaukee M18, DeWalt 18V/20V, Bosch 18V, Ryobi ONE+, AEG 18V, Ozito/Einhell 18V, HiKOKI 18V and Metabo 18V batteries. Not every product is made for every brand, so use the Battery platform filter to see what fits yours.

Are batteries included?

No. These products run on the 18V tool batteries you already own. Bigger batteries (higher Ah) run your gear for longer.

Are these genuine Makita, Milwaukee or DeWalt products?

No. They're aftermarket products made to fit those batteries. They're not made, approved or endorsed by the battery brands.

What do I need to run a 12V fridge?

The Volt Step Down PRO is the best fit: 15A through an Anderson plug, with a 12V socket and USB-C as well. The 18V to 12V Power Supply (up to 10A) also runs a fridge but suits lighter loads. At temperature, most 12V fridges draw about 1 amp on average, so a 12Ah battery gives roughly 12 hours.

How do I keep my batteries charged on a trip?

Use an In-Car Battery Charger. It plugs into your vehicle's 12V or 24V socket and charges your tool batteries while you drive.

How much is delivery and where do you send?

We deliver anywhere in Australia, and shipping is free on orders of $1,500 or more. Below that, it's calculated at checkout from your address and the items in your order. Every delivery includes in-transit insurance, and we send with Australia Post, FedEx or DHL depending on the size and weight of your order.

Can I pick up my order instead?

Yes. Choose Pickup In-Store at checkout and collect your order from our store at 14 Cessna Street, Marcoola, on the Sunshine Coast. It saves the shipping cost.

Do you ship overseas?

Yes, for everything except awnings. International shipping is calculated at checkout, not including local import duties and taxes, which the receiver pays. For an overseas quote on an awning, email info@mrswagman.com.au or call +61 (0)7 5302 6954.

What's the warranty?

Every Mr Swagman product has a 12-month warranty against manufacturing defects, such as stitching or a seam coming apart, or a zip, buckle or pole failing in normal use. It starts on the day you receive the product, and it's in addition to your rights under the Australian Consumer Law.

Can I return it if I change my mind?

Yes, within 30 days of receiving it, as long as it's unused and in its original packaging. Please contact us first. You pay the return freight, the original shipping cost isn't refunded, and a 5% restocking fee comes off your refund, which we process once the item is back with us and approved for resale. If anything arrives faulty, damaged or not as described, that's different: contact us and we'll sort it out under the Australian Consumer Law, with no restocking fee.

What should I do when my order arrives?

Check the box and the product for damage before you sign for it. If there's any damage, note it with the driver before signing, or refuse the delivery. Without that, we can't claim on the freight insurance.
